General description (or Mission Statement): Hope Christian School is both an administrative overseer (conventional school) and an enabler (home education). Hope is a ministry designed to serve the needs of the home. In this way, Hope offers families the accountability and structure of a private school, while insuring parents the influence of a home education format.
Requirements:
- Attend 3 meetings with the HCS Administrative Staff during the school year.
- 175 days of schooling - 3 to 4 hours of on task work per day, depending on age and grade level.
- A lesson plan book would need to be kept, which is checked in January at the required meetings.
- Report cards are turned in every 9 weeks, a template is provided (electronic versions available as well).
- A transcript for High School students must be turned in by January 10th (1st Semester) and by June 10th (Second Semester/Final).
- Parents of a High School Senior are required to attend a Senior meeting the year their child graduates.
Fees: For the 2008/2009 School Year - Registration $65.00 before June 1st, $75.00 between June 2nd & July 31st, $85.00 August 1st or later
Services: Each family is placed in a "support group" located in their area. Each group has a leader and an assistant and they coordinate group activities. We also offer school wide activities that are available to enrolled students.
