CRU92's purpose is to provide a forum for unschoolers in the Tri-Cities area of Washington state to find and meet each other, and to share information, support and inspiration about unschooling. Ideas shared here will be discussed in order to help members gain a better understanding of unschooling.
Unschooling is the philosophy that children raised in a supportive and interesting environment will learn what they need to become successful adults. The parent's goal is not to teach, but to facilitate their children's exploration of the world.
All posts to this list are public. Please post only those ideas that you are willing to have discussed in a public forum. Members should avoid sharing personal information from this list with non-list members.
As a primary purpose of this list is for area unschoolers to become acquainted, it is expected that all members will post an introduction to the list within 1 week of joining the list. We reserve the right to remove members who do not comply with this request.

- deseret - Welcome to Deseret. We are a home school support group designed to support and strengthen Latter-Day Saint families in the North King and Snohomish Counties of Washington State. The goal of Deseret is to connect new and veteran LDS home schooling families with each other and aid in their growth. This may be accomplished thru field trips, activities, mom's nights, and family gatherings. Parents are a integral part of Deseret. Their support and involvement is vital! This E-group has been established as a means for communication about upcomming events and activities. We welcome you and are glad you have joined us!

- fwhsa (Federal Way Homeschoolers' Support Association) - We are a support group for homeschoolers in the Federal Way area in Washington State.
We have interesting speakers, group activities, opportunities for the children to participate, field trips, and just a chance to meet other people who home school in the area. We have a homeschooling library and offer opportunities to order homeschooling resources.
We meet the 3rd Thursday of every month from 7-9 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 30029 16th Ave S, Federal Way We have activities for the kids during the day and in the summer, also.
Call or email for listing of events, times and locations. All are welcome to attend. You are our guest at your first meeting. Membership is $25 per year, and includes a subscription to the newsletter. Non-members are asked to contribute $2.00 to cover speaker and facility fees at the meetings they attend.
