- CentralOhioK12 (Central Ohio K12) - Welcome to Central Ohio K12! This group is intended for all families using the K12 curriculum in the Central Ohio area. Whether you homeschool independently with K12 or are enrolled in the Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA), or are just thinking about k12, you are welcome.
While the school has representatives that occasionally helpfully participate on this board, this board is independent of the school and not officially affiliated with the school itself. And although we are users of the k12 curriculum, we do not have an official affiliation with k12, either. This group is intended to facilitate open communication amongst parents.
Members of this list discuss anything related to K12. The number of Central Ohio K12 users is steadily increasing, and this list will be a good way for us to connect with one another.
Members can also share their knowledge and experiences about other Central Ohio groups and activities that our children can join to enrich their educational experience, socialization, and those all-important supplemental hours, if you happen to use OHVA. Since we are more localized, we can more effectively arrange outing opportunities, play dates, and form more affiliations with other parents who are close to us by meeting and sharing the K12 curriculum teaching responsibilites. Sometimes we are just here to support each other and that's wonderful, too!

- CHEOWLEO - CHEOWLEO stands for Christian Home Educators in Ohio Who Love Each Other. This tongue-in-cheek name for a non-existent state organization appeared in an online conversation and is commemorated here.
The purpose of CHEOWLEO is to provide Christian home educators in Ohio with a forum for lively discussion of homeschooling issues. We are primarily a forum for addressing homeschooling questions and concerns, such as how to homeschool in Ohio, answering questions and providing support from a Christian perspective. Legislation alerts pertaining to education and family are welcome. We do ask that you *try* to focus on home education topics, recognizing that what constitutes a home education topic varies from family to family. Quotes from the Bible are welcome, as are varied opinions.
Since we are CHEOWLEO we are required to hold to two rules: to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We encourage posters, therefore, to refrain from damaging their relationship with other list members. Lively discussion is encouraged. But personal attacks are not. List members are reminded that we all come from different backgrounds and may not always agree. Sometimes we must agree to disagree.
Due to an increase of spam, new members will be moderated.
