Alabama Homeschool Support Groups (A - E)
I have tried to include here only those groups that indicate they really are a support group and not just an e-mail list. Many are e-mail lists, but they also meet for park days, arrange field trips, schedule events, etc. That sounds like a support group to me!
That said, there are also a few Alabama homeschool information websites included here. These "groups" do not sponsor field trips or workshops or any sort of get together. But they do provide valuable information to Alabama homeschoolers, so I am including them.

Alabama Christian Home Education
ALCHE is a homeschool support organization in Alabama. ALCHE is a free service to all Christian homeschool families in Alabama. Most of the families subscribed come from the following North Alabama counties: Morgan, Lawrence, Cullman, Madison, and Limestone.

BAUPS · Birmingham Area Unschooling Parents
BAUPS (Birmingham Area Unschooling Parents) is open to all Birmingham (Alabama) area homeschooling parents. Most of our members are relaxed homeschoolers or unschoolers, but all are welcome.

CAIH · Central Alabama Independent Homeschools
This group is open to anyone homeschooling, or interested in homeschooling, but primarily we are interested in other homeschooling families located in or near Central Alabama. As the name implies, this group is primarily for those of us who have chosen to homeschool under our own umbrella, without the use of a cover school. As such, it is our goal to use this group as a tool to meet parents in similar circumstances to discuss issues, curriculums, challenges etc. Also, this could be a springboard to meet others for the purpose of occasional get-togethers and fieldtrips for the kids.

The CHEAHA support group exists for the purpose of encouraging and unifying Christian home educating families. This is accomplished through coordinating activities, communicating information and networking the home education coverings in and around the Anniston area.

Christian Home Education Fellowship of Alabama (CHEF)
CHEF of Alabama was founded in 1988 to serve all home educators in Alabama by providing information, services, and resources from a Christian perspective to anyone who needs help in the area of home schooling. While we do not limit our services to Christians, our approach is decidedly from the Christian perspective.

The Charlotte Mason Study Group for East-Central Alabama meets on the 4th Tuesday evening of each month in Eastaboga to encourage and learn from each other as we study various writings about using the Charlotte Mason method to educate our children.
